The most rewarding moment that I experienced this tax season was when I completed one woman’s return; when she saw that she would be getting a $1,500 refund, she jumped out of her seat, gave me a hug, and told me that I had just made her day. It felt so good to have made this one person’s day by doing something that I really enjoy.

    Volunteer Training

DelcoAD VITA volunteers train using the IRS’ Link and Learn training self-paced online training modules.  If you have experience with tax law, you may be able to complete the training specifically for returning volunteers.  To complete the tests, you must create a login with Practice Lab, which is a tax software simulation used for volunteer training purposes.  You can take the tests through Link and Learn or by clicking here The self-paced training culminates in a training session to review
site operations, quality site requirements, volunteer responsibilities, and asset development tools offered at our sites.  There are three to choose from:  one at Widener University, one at Swarthmore College and one at Villanova University.  These trainings are from 9am-2pm on Saturdays in January and feature a complimentary breakfast and lunch.
